The figures of a miner and a glassblower on the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Coat of Arms represents the area’s major industries, coal mining and glass manufacturing. The miner stands upon a heap of coal and the glassblower on a grassy mound which represents the Borough’s rural areas. (Click on image for more info)
